ACAO is committed to building stronger Black communities through advocacy, education, and direct support.
Through our various programs and initiatives, ACAO works to address the economic, social, and cultural challenges facing Black communities in Ottawa and beyond. From providing access to essential resources, to creating opportunities for youth and families, to advocating for equity and justice, we are making a lasting difference. Together with our partners and volunteers, we are shaping a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
Our ProjectsWe envision a future where Black communities, regardless of economic background, have equal access to resources, opportunities, and the tools needed to thrive. A future where systemic barriers are dismantled, voices are amplified, and success is not defined by race or socio-economic status.
Our vision is to build a society where Black communities, especially those facing economic barriers, are empowered through access to resources, opportunities, and leadership development. We envision strong, inclusive, and resilient communities where everyone has the tools to thrive and reach their full potential.
Our CommitmentOur mission defines our unwavering commitment to creating opportunities, eliminating barriers, and building a more just and inclusive society for Black communities.
Our mission is to serve as a catalyst for positive change in the lives of low-income Black individuals and families. We strive to meet their basic needs, support their personal and professional growth, and create a more equitable and just society.
