Anti-Black racism is an endemic in modern Canadian society.
This committee focuses on educating people about Black history and contemporary issues. Ontario’s education system fails to educate students about Black history and cultures. This perpetuates the idea that Black lives are not worth learning about and that the Black community has not contributed to Canadian society. We are working hard to change that narrative.
Another focal point of this committee is unity through diversity. This is achieved through the celebration of African cultures.
